How does the share shuttle work versus private transport?
Shared shuttle means you "share a ride" with others going in your direction. Our service and fares are based on multiple stops. Because passengers arrive on different flights and times, we are unable to offer instant share ride departures from the airport. Instead, we group guests going to the same area. Because you're sharing a ride, you're also sharing the cost, which results in lower prices.
Private transfer as it implies involves no sharing except with your very own travelling party. We take you immediately to your destination, no sharing!
What are the time schedules for the shared shuttles?
Belize City to Placencia/Hopkins are 8:00 AM 12:30 PM 2:00 PM 4:00 PM 6:00 PM
Placencia to Belize City are 6:00 AM 8:30 AM 12:00pm
Hopkins to Belize City 7:00 AM, 9:30 AM and 1:00 PM
Belize City to San Ignacio are 9:00 AM 10:00 AM 12:30pm 2:00 PM 4:00 PM 6:00 PM
San Ignacio to Belize City are 7:30 AM 10:30 AM 12:30pm 2:30 PM
San Ignacio to Placencia are 10:30 AM, 2:00 PM

How do I book the service?
You can book online by selecting the form of service (shuttle or private), then select the destination you desire. Shared shuttles require a 30 minute prior reservation to guarantee seats. Private transfers require a 24 hour reservation to guarantee service.
Below guidelines are how to book our service:
- Select the Shuttles tab for a shared shuttle and Transfer tab for a private transfer. Then choose your destination.
- Click on book now, select date of trip, preferred departure time.
- Select your guest and price option e.g couple. More than one selection can be made; e.g child and solo traveler
- Complete guest information form; be sure to let us know your arrival time and flight #, pick up and drop off location.
- Proceed to check out and complete payment information, print your ticket.
A Belize Shuttle representative will be waiting for you as you exit the arrival area. We look forward to seeing you and serving you.
What is your cancellation policy?
Customer can cancel reservations without reason 24 hours prior for Private Transfers or 12 hours for shared shuttles by email. A refund (less 7% admin fee) is provided only if completed in the stipulated time; however credit for future travel can be provided. Reference terms and conditions for more details.
How do I cancel items in my cart?
To empty cart; click on cart; then select "x".
How much does the service cost?
Prices are based on a per person rate but are also tiered by group and discounted and vary by destination. Children under 10 pay a very small fraction of the cost. Click on the destination you are interested in and then select “book now” to see prices.
How do I pay for the service?
A 50% payment is required online. We accept all major credit cards Note balance must be paid in cash to the driver upon arrival.
Do I get a discount?
Our prices are designed as the most cost efficient; but we also believe in giving more value to our customers. A total of 3 trips booked automatically qualifies you for discounts. We also enjoy giving discretionary discounts from time to time to our valuable customers.
What is the pick-up window for private transfers?
Our 15 minute pick up window means that we will pick you up no later than 15 minutes of your scheduled pick up time.
How do I find you at the airport?
As you exit the customs area; turn right and one of our drivers or personnel will be waiting with a Belize Shuttles sign and a warm welcome.
Will someone be waiting with our names?
What kind of vehicle will I be getting?
Majority of our vehicles are 2015/2016 luxury vans. They carry a capacity of 15 passengers.
Do you have handicapped equipped vehicles?
Not at this time. However please email us so we can see what arrangements we can make for you.
Are you insured?
Yes both our vehicles and passengers are covered under our insurance policy.
What is the waiting period for the shuttles?
Our destinations waiting period should not exceed 2 hours. If you prefer immediate service please try our outstanding private transfers.
Can I change my pick up time on my departure date?
It is possible that we can accommodate you; however it is important that you advise of this request by email at least three hours prior. If your reservation was a shared shuttle and new pick up time falls outside of our scheduled shuttles you will need to upgrade to a private transfer.
What happens if I miss my shuttle?
Once there are available seats you can be accommodated on the next shuttle. Note that may require some amount of waiting time. However if you arrive after our last shuttle has departed you will need to contact us for a private shuttle and pay the difference.
What if my flight is delayed?
It is important you email us immediately on your flight delay so we can make the necessary arrangements to facilitate you.
How do I tip my driver?
A tip for a job well-done is optional, and is greatly appreciated. These are not facilitated online however. Customers can tip drivers at their drop off location.
How many stops will the shuttle make?
This may vary but average to 3-4 stops. Rides are grouped geographically thus stops will be in quick successions.
How do I know what order I’ll be dropped off?
We cannot guarantee the sequence of pick up or drop off in advance. However at the time of the shuttle the driver will be able to assist you in this query.
Do you charge for extra stops?
Except for 2 pit stops; any extra stops will incur additional charges and will depend on distance. Note that for shared shuttles this may not always be accommodated.
Can I stop for grocery shopping?
No. Unless pre-arranged with our office and this may be accommodated only for private transfers.
Do I need to provide a car seat?
Belize Shuttles will provide a car seat; however let us know in advance if one is required and we will advise first on availability.
Are there any limitations on baggage?
We allow 2 bags per passenger; additional bags will incur charges.
I have left something in the van; how do I get it?
We advise that you immediately contact customer service. Please refer to our terms and conditions for more on this under luggage.
If I did not use my voucher/ticket can I use it in the future?
Only on a discretionary case by case basis will we allow for a reschedule within a 3 month period.
How old must I be or a child to travel alone?
Children under the age of 16 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
Are pets allowed?
Pets are permitted only on private transfers and must be kenneled. Pets less than 20 pounds may be held in a lap carrier. Pets larger than 20 pounds may require an exclusive van. All pets must be properly secured within the carrier at all times and will incur an additional charge.
